You know I can’t recall for sure right now Tre L. Loadholt! Within 20–30 metres for sure. But I had a great telephoto lens that I was using and my Nikon D7100 has not let me down yet!

In terms of approaching these animals, we are, of course, always in a vehicle on the designated paths and with a highly experienced game driver.

Buffaloes are one of the more dangerous animals on the savannah so one definitely has to be careful not to spook them.

On the flip side, we were right amongst a pride of lions — including lionesses and their cubs without any issues!
