First job at the age of 15, till boy at McDonald’s Brent Cross. Customer service in the cauldron. I remember taking flak from a German customer, in London for a break, because we didn’t take a certain credit card at the time, I know I remained composed (after all I wasn’t making policy) but was somewhat relieved when he asked for my manager. Who backed me up. Without losing the sale.

I learned the essence of customer service and leadership all in that short interaction.

Incredible how your piece here instantaneously threw up that memory and connection Jason Fried —thank you. Here’s to experiences and learning all we can!
